DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC NOISE

DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC NOISE is a new series of recursive artworks from Zeitwarp Studios including physical installation, digital/video MP4 collages, PHREAK MUSIC 'Blip-Beats' and augmented reality enabled physical art prints.

"Do Androids Dream of Electric Noise #1" is the genesis print in the series and the first free art print drop for Radio Zeitwarp members.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Noise?"

WTF?

GROOVERUNNER

The thematic premise of the DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC NOISE series is an acknowledgement of the proliferation of 'AI music' and 'bot listeners' on the major streaming platforms. The implications for organic (human) musicians would appear to be further displacement in an economic landscape where established revenue channels have witnessed seismic disruption. The implications for the music 'consumer' are perhaps equally interesting:

"This is the logical endgame of streamonomics: bots making music strictly and perhaps solely to be listened to by other bots. The only human interaction would be your monthly subscription fee."

Terry Matthew, 5Mag

The title of the series is a reference to Philip K Dick's 1968 sci-fi novel that became the basis of the 1982 film Bladerunner. The work also incorporates some of the broader themes of The NO$TALGIA Show - a long term conceptual creative project from Zeitwarp Studios that has been exhibited internationally both in digital and physical form.

PRINTS...& THE REVOLUTION

SOUND & VISION

DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC NOISE is a hybrid digital/physical art series. The physical prints are standalone artworks in their own right, however they are also just one node within a a sequence of recursive phase space transformations between the sensory spaces of Sound & Vision, Music & Art and physical/digital forms.

Each physical print has an accompanying audiovisual digital remix of the original image. These 'Sound & Vision' remixes feature digital distortions of the original images using a unique 16 bar /120 bpm 'Blip-Loop' electric noise beat as the seed. for the transformations.

FOR THE CULTURE

The idea behind starting Radio Zeitwarp was to build a community of people focused on Art, Music, & Technology, but completely free from the control and 'curation' of the social media algorithms.

The plan is then to harness the power of that community to power a cultural initiative to support musicians directly with funding, promotion and performance opportunities.

NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH ?

"Without people you're nothing"

Joe Strummer

The plan is to build Radio Zeitwarp into a powerful and self-sustaining cultural initiative that can provide direct assistance to emerging musicians and music projects in the form of funding, radio play, promotion and performance.

I want to create a launchpad for unknown musicians who are working and creating on the 'Edge of the Bell Curve". Musicians who are operating outside of the mainstream, in the pools where the management agencies, publicists and labels don't bother fishing. Musicians who have to work to make opportunities for themselves in a music landscape where more independent venues are shutting down every week, and streaming has become a fantasy revenue stream.

That's going to require a lot of people becoming members.

I've been fortunate to be exhibited by a number of art and music organisations - particularly in Berlin and Lisbon - and supported by a wide range of collectors of both my physical and digital work, but as an 'outsider artist' without a significant social media presence it is almost impossible to get a lot of people's attention and with this new project I'm going to need to reach out to as many people as possible to introduce them to the benefits of membership and the Radio Zeitwarp mission.

So that's why I'm giving away a free physical art print to anyone signing up for a free membership.

Giving away a physical free art print may seem counterintuitive but hopefully you'll check out the rest of the series, or explore some of the other work from The NO$TALGIA Show...or maybe even take a look at the MUSIC GRAFFITI paintings.

(Remember, 10% of all purchases by Radio Zeitwarp members go to support the Tip-Jar fund.)

Not only is it an introduction to the kind of work that Zeitwarp Studios produces...but it's hopefully going to be the first piece in a growing art print collection of every new member.

The 250gsm art print of 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Noise #1' in A4 size normally costs £19.99 from the Zeitwarp website. It is available here for £0.

To cover the cost of packaging and physically sending out the physical prints to your home address, there is a shipping charge of £2.50 (UK) or £4.50 (International), however this is 100% fully refundable if you are in any way unhappy with the free A4 print...and you can even keep the print!

This 100% money back guarantee is valid for an extended period of 14 days.

Personally, I think you'll be thrilled with the print and won't want to part with it, especially as 10% of the shipping charge will be donated straight into the Tip-Jar.

(I just realised that if I give away ten thousand prints and everyone keeps them, then that's a minimum of £2500 in the Tip-Jar just to start the ball rolling.)

So that's the offer.

Join Radio Zeitwarp for free, order yourself a free A4 art print, along with a bunch of other member benefits, and be part of a mission to help out the next generation of musicians.

I hope you like it.
